School of Economics and Management (SEM) conducted a preliminary dissertation defense among 2018 graduates, with an eye to enhancing the quality of postgraduate education and further standardizing the management of graduate dissertations. ECJTU Chancellor Wan Ming, Vice President Zhang Yuqing, SEM Dean Han Shizhuan, Associate Dean Tao Yuchun and Associate Dean Yu Desheng as well as related postgraduate supervisors participated in theprocess.
At the defense meetings, the 2018 graduates briefed on their own thesis and research, after which the supervisors put forward valuable opinions on topic selection, research content, research methods, as well as the structure and format of the theses.
Prof. Wan Ming affirmed the performance of the students and stressed three main points: first, it is essential to consolidate thesis arguments with data; second, the thesis needs to be extensive in content and coherent in logic; and third, each and every graduate needs to take his graduation thesis seriously and input tremendous efforts into revising it.
