Initially founded in 1983, School of Economics and Management (hereinafter referred to as “SEM”) consists of four departments, which are respectively the Department of Economics, Management, Accounting and Statistics. SEM is home to three university-level research institutes, which are Jiangxi Province Soft Science Research Base, Jiangxi Province Humanities and Social Science Key Research Base and New Industrialization and Urbanization Research Institute, and it has four school-level research institutes.

SEM currently has 128 faculties and staff, among which there are 13 professors (6 more part-time professors) and 45 associate professors, 38 doctors and 20 on-the-job doctors, and 58 supervisors for master students. What’s more, the School has 100 or more visiting professors and part-time professors. A large number of SEM teachers have won numerous provincial-level or national-level titles and prizes.

During the past five years, SEM has undertaken more than 20 national-level scientific research projects, and more than 80 provincial-level projects, with a total of over RMB 18 million scientific research funds. It has won over 30 prizes of provincial or higher levels and more than 50 other prizes. SEM faculties have published more than 20 books, 30 textbooks and over 1,000 dissertations of which more than 150 are retrieved by SCI/EI/ISTP.
