The 28th International Conference on Pacific Rim Management organized by the Association for Chinese Management Educators (ACME) and sponsored by East China Jiaotong University (ECJTU) was unveiled on June 1st in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. More than 120 experts and scholars from across China, the United States, Canada and Australia gathered together and probed into topics concerning international economic transformation and management innovation.
ECJTU Chancellor Wan Ming delivered an opening speech, where he reiterated the resolve of the University to bring in more intellectuals and foster a sound and favorable environment for ECJTU faculty, staff and students. Vice President Fan Yong chaired the opening ceremony.
ACME President Alex L. Liu, Dean of College of Business of Chung Yuan Christian University observed that “The Pacific Rim is one of the important overseas shipping routes in the world. A comprehensive understanding of management issues in this particular geographical area is very important because it creates an avenue to rethink existing innovation and economic development models in the area to make future efforts more effective and sustainable.”
Professor Shi Kan of Renmin University of China and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Huei Lee of Eastern Michigan University, Professor Ai Chunrong of Renmin University of China, Professor Wang Shaoping of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Professor Ye Kangtao of Renmin University of China made keynote speeches respectively. Participating scholars had heated discussions in such fields as management, economics and accounting in the afternoon sessions.
ICPRM 2018 provided a forum for business educators and practitioners to exchange information and stimulated cooperation between academia and industry in the Pacific Rim.
