Associate Professor Zhou Caiyun of SEM, as the first author, published a research report “Major Problems in Jiangxi Financial Poverty Alleviation and Corresponding Solutions in the New Era” (《新时代我省金融扶贫工作亟需破解的主要问题及对策》in Chinese) in the Internal Forum (《内部论坛》) in Chinese) of the Jiangxi Provincial Association of Social Sciences. The report was noted by provincial officials, among which Mr. Mao Weiming, Member of CPC Provincial Standing Committee and Executive Deputy Governor, and Deputy Governor Wu Xiaojun made important instructions according to the report.
Financial poverty alleviationis a crucial “propeller.” The report believes that in spite of fruitful results in recent years, there are still deficiencies in poverty reduction. It thus puts forward five solutions: stepping up the establishment of an evaluation mechanism for financial poverty relief work, improving the risk sharing mechanism infinancial poverty reduction, optimizing the talent cultivation mechanism in this regard, strengthening dynamic assessment of farmers’ credit ratings, and subdividing the credit market for farmers step by step.
This report is a stage achievement of National Natural Science Foundation of China general project “Research on Evaluation and Optimization of Effects of Micro-size Precision Financial Poverty Alleviation in Poverty-Stricken Areas” (《贫困地区微型金融精准扶贫效应评价与优化研究》in Chinese,16 BJL108) chaired by Mr. Zhou Caiyun. It also represents the efforts of East China JiaoTong University in contributing to local economic growth and governmental decision-making.
